Beau Nash House

We were searching for a couple of restaurants that had good reviews one of which was Ciao Ciao Italian.  We found it right next door to the Theatre Royal and realised that it was actually in Beau Nash House.  Beau Nash was Master of Ceremonies in Bath in the 18th century when Bath was an important out of London social centre.

Sorry about the delivery van but they don’t cater for tourist snaps.  Life goes on.

A little fanciful perhaps but one would have liked to have met the lady who could call herself Popjoy. It really was the “Hello” magazine age long before our current  media and celebrity shenanigans.

Had dinner with Toby’s son last night and compared adventures in Iran; mine in 1990 and his in 2013. it seems Toby and his good wife have spawned a new generation of adventurer.
