The “Bathalf” 2015


The Bath Half Marathon was run this last weekend.  We went down to Queen Square and watched as the front-runners came by:

It took at least half an hour for the field to pass by before the stragglers struggled into view.  All the while a local Brazilian-style percussion ensemble were banging away creating a highly festive atmosphere and setting the tempo for the runners.

We then hastened down to the finish on Pulteney Bridge – seen here from the west showing the weir –

to see the winners cross the line on Great Pulteney Street.  The mens’ winner finished in 65.28 minutes…

…followed by the first woman home in 73.50 minutes…
